Fotones 18

FOtones ... what started in February 2004 as a bi-weekly midweek event has since then grown into a regular and well-respected gathering of all things leftfield and experimental in Brussels. During 17+1 editions we have presented a selection of over 100 artists from all over the world: producers, dj's, vj's, performance artists and far-out electronic nutcases - many of them performing for the first time in Belgium.

FOtones 18.0 will be the last edition of the series. For this event we're presenting an extra-solid, extra-large line-up, combining foreign artists with the best of the Foton and f0.am family.

FOtones 18.0 also coincides with the end of the 'Transient Reality Generators' (TRG) project. This is a European project that fuses media and architecture, aiming at the complete and continuous intertwinement of physical and virtual reality. TRG's partner organisations FoAM (Belgium), Time's Up (Austria) and Kibla (Slovenia) have joined forces to promote generation of mixed realities as a legitimate contemporary artistic practice.

After a year of adventurous development, the TRG project is drawing to its conclusion. To celebrate its results, FoAM brings a taste of TRG to the Brussel's audience; a TRG symposium and round table, performances by partner-organisations and a closing party (FOtones 18.0), produced in collaboration with Foton, hosted by Nadine and the Beursschouwburg.

Here's the line-up + timetable. Come early, leave late - bring a friend and share a mircacle.
