More remix goodness has arrived chez Foton. This time it's Antwerp's Bipolar who's taken up the challenge of remixing the N(OO_O)RD source files. You can download his excellent remix from the N(OO_O)RD page.

The first release on Foton's new venture Time To Express is out. Peter Van Hoesen's 'Trusted EP' features three heavy-hitting techno tracks, including a killer remix by Berghain/Ostgut Ton's Norman Nodge. This EP is available on 12" vinyl and digital formats.

SMart asbl is a socio-professional organisation supporting artists on a logistic, administrative and legal level. To celebrate its 10th anniversary SMart is organizing the SMartival, a festival for its 20000 members and for the general audience. The SMartival takes place from 22/11/2008 until 29/11/2008, at the Pathé Palace in Brussels.

Foton is responsible for the conceptualization and the artistic program of the SMartival. Within this framework we launch a call for projects, based on the following conditions and proposals:

ARTISTIC PROGRAM
- the SMartival is a MULTI- and INTERDISCIPLINARY event: music, film, dance, theater, circus, installations, fine arts ... all artistic disciplines as well as their hybrid forms are welcome
- first of all the SMartival wants to be a place and a moment in time where SUPPORT, ENCOUNTERS and EXCHANGE between artists, the general audience and the SMart-crew prevail: the event is open to all artistic proposals containing these elements of INTERACTIVITY, no matter what their format might be (performances, installations, workshops, ...)

ANONYMOUS AUCTION
- whether you are an artist or not, whether you are well-known or not, send us your own artistic creation, to be sold during our anonymous auction ... the day of the auction you might return home with a real Tuymans without realising it.

Foton is lending a hand to City Mine(d), assisting them in the organisation of their 'Micronomics' festival. 'Micronomics' is a 3-day event held in Brussels (30/04, 01/05 & 02/05/2008). The main theme is the city's social/informal/creative economy.

An open stage is part of the festival's programme. This open stage provides artists, urbanists, researchers the opportunity to express his/her interpretation of the festival's theme. More info: Micronomics.

On March 17 2008 Bent Object will start the creation of Below 20, a performance based around notions of control and subliminal influences. Research for this new Foton production has been going strong since March 2007. The results of this ongoing research are now publicly available on the Below 20 blog.

There's a new screening of Altitude 1000 coming up. The Scottish New Moves International festival will present Altitude 1000 in Glasgow on February 8 2008.
